How Can Hypnotherapy Help me?
Think about the kinds of things that take your attention from this perfect present moment as you are just sitting here and reading this. Maybe it’s the first time today you were able to get your mind off of its busy stream of invading thoughts. Does your past rent space in your mind with replaying images filled with anger, sadness, guilt, or shame? Or do you spend time projecting into your future with anxious feelings, worry and fear? Do your beliefs hold you hostage making you believe you aren’t the perfect, whole and complete person you really are? You’re not alone. Most of us (if I daresay all) have busy minds containing self-limiting beliefs. We are human after all. We have false and negative beliefs stirring these emotions and “press our buttons” which cause our behaviors….and therefore create our issues.
If you are thinking about a particular negative pattern playing out in your own life right now, good…go ahead. See if you can trace it back to something that triggers an emotional reaction on your part…something that really makes you crazy mad, or preoccupied with fear. Then see if you can figure out why. You’re lucky if you can put your finger on the cause. Even so, can you make it go away? That’s where hypnotherapy work begins. You recognize an issue that causes you to limit all you can be, and you work with a hypnotherapist to transform it – bringing you to a more peaceful state of gratitude, acceptance and compassion. Life could be so different – so pleasant – without that bothersome negative “monkey mind.” And don’t forget that a person’s attitude affects their health. Studies show that a positive attitude toward one’s condition can increase recovery time and reduce the amount of medication used.
So now try to imagine, even if for just a nanosecond, the serenity of an untroubled mind and the healthy, happy and balanced lifestyle that could be free to emerge.
Look at just these few negative or life-limiting patterns to see if you identify with any:
Insomnia Nail biting Over eating Smoking Anxious feelings Test/Performance anxiety Fear of Driving, heights, etc. |
Quick to anger Worried about embarrassment Feelings of guilt or shame Need to control Negativism, overly critical Perfectionism Need to reduce negative thoughts |
Lack of worthiness/low self-esteem Lack of enthusiasm, motivation, direction Overstressed Need to change habitual behavior Unable to resolve a relationship issue Lack of motivation to reach goals Desired visualization for increased athletic or sports performance |
Just remember, in Haruki Murikami’s words, “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.” We can’t control the world, but we can control our minds and how we think about it ~ and that is what determines our peace. Hypnotherapy really works.
